Mixing Using Inclusive Semileptonic Decays

The time dependence of B d B d mixing has been observed in events containing high-P t leptons using a highly inclusive v ertexing method to determine the B decay position. The initial state B hadron avor was determined using the large forward-backward asymmetry provided by the highly polarized electron beam of SLC in combination with a jet charge technique. From a sample of 150,000 hadronic Z decays observed in the SLD detector at the SLC between 1993 and 1995, a preliminary analysis of the mass dierence between the two B d mass eigenstates yields m d = 0.520 0.072(stat) 0.035(syst) ps 1 .
